About the Business
Carrollton Handyman was founded in 2008 by Jayden Barrett to offer homeowners and small businesses in the Dallas area something that was getting harder to find: a skilled, reliable handyman who showed up when he said he would, priced jobs fairly, and did the work right the first time.
Over sixteen years of operation in the North Dallas market, the business has stayed focused on the same core promise — do good work, communicate clearly, and treat customers like people. We haven't grown into a big franchise operation, and that's intentional. Staying small means the quality of every job stays high and clients deal directly with the person doing the work, not an office manager.
Carrollton Handyman handles the residential repairs and maintenance tasks that homeowners typically put off because they can't find someone reliable: drywall patching, door and window work, trim installation, fixture replacements, minor plumbing, furniture assembly, interior painting, and general maintenance punch lists. We also work with small commercial tenants on interior maintenance within landlord scope.
The business operates in Carrollton, Dallas, Plano, Farmers Branch, Addison, Richardson, and surrounding communities throughout the North Dallas metropolitan area. Scheduling is available Monday through Saturday, and we can often accommodate same-week bookings for smaller repairs.
Our Work Ethic
Carrollton Handyman was built on straightforward principles that don't take a lot of explaining. You call us with a problem. We give you a straight answer about what it costs and when we can get there. We show up. We do the work properly. We clean up. You pay. That's it.
We don't upsell. We don't manufacture urgency to get more work. If a repair is genuinely minor, we tell you that. If we find something that actually does need attention, we show you and explain why. Every client we've kept over the years — and many of our current customers have been calling us for five to ten years — trusts us because we've given them no reason not to.
We work on homes we'd be comfortable working on if they were our own. That means no shortcuts on prep work, no skipping steps because the homeowner isn't watching, no using the wrong fastener because it's faster. It also means we don't take on jobs that are outside our skill set and then figure it out on the customer's dime. When something requires a licensed electrician or plumber, we say so.
Who We Serve
Most of our work is residential — homeowners who need repairs done right and don't want the hassle of chasing down a contractor. We do a lot of work for people preparing to sell or renovate: fixing up deferred maintenance, handling the inspection punch list, and getting a home into solid shape before it hits the market.
We also serve landlords with rental properties in the Dallas area who need reliable maintenance work handled between tenants or during tenancies. And we work with homeowners who simply want a trusted contact they can call when something breaks — someone who'll pick up the phone, give an honest assessment, and get it done.
We don't take every job. If a project is outside our scope — major structural work, full kitchen or bathroom renovation, jobs requiring permits and licensed trades — we say so clearly. What we do take, we do well.

Jayden runs Carrollton Handyman and handles most jobs directly. He works primarily in the Carrollton and North Dallas area, schedules jobs so clients get a clear arrival window, and communicates directly throughout every project.
He takes on both single repairs and full punch lists for homeowners preparing to sell or renovate. He keeps his tools and materials stocked so most common repairs don't require a second visit.
