How Carrollton Handyman Works

From first phone call to finished job — here's exactly what to expect when you hire Carrollton Handyman for a repair or maintenance project in Dallas, TX.

01.Give Us a Call

Start by calling (945) 298-5977 — or fill out the quote request form on our Contact page. Either way, you'll connect directly with Jayden Barrett, who runs Carrollton Handyman. No answering service, no middleman. Describe the work you need done and he'll ask the right questions to get a clear picture of the job. Most of the time this conversation takes five minutes or less.

You can also send a quick description by email at info@carrollton-handyman.com. We respond same-day during business hours.

02.Get a Straight Price

For jobs that can be priced over the phone or via a few photos, we'll give you a quote before ever showing up. For larger or more involved jobs, we'll schedule a brief on-site assessment — no charge. Either way, you get a firm price before any work begins. There are no hourly "plus materials" surprises. You approve the price, we do the work. Full stop.

We do not start any work until you've agreed to the price. No exceptions.

03.Schedule the Job

Once you've approved the quote, we lock in a date and time that works for you. We're available Monday through Saturday and can often get smaller jobs on the schedule within the same week. You'll receive a clear arrival window — not a vague four-hour block. If we're running ahead or behind, we'll call you.

Weekend availability for urgent repairs. Call to check same-week availability.

04.We Show Up and Do the Work

On the day of the job, we arrive within the scheduled window, assess the work on-site, and get started. We carry the tools and most common materials needed for standard repairs, so most jobs are handled start to finish in a single visit. We work cleanly and quietly and keep the area organized while the job is in progress.

For jobs requiring specialty materials or fixtures, we'll coordinate delivery or pick-up in advance.

05.If Something Unexpected Comes Up

Sometimes a repair uncovers a secondary issue — water damage behind a wall, a rotted sill that wasn't visible before the door came out, or wiring that doesn't match the expected configuration. When that happens, we stop and talk to you before proceeding. We describe what we found, explain what it means, and give you the options. No surprise charges, no work you didn't approve.

You always decide how to proceed when something unexpected turns up. We never expand scope without your sign-off.

06.Payment and Cleanup

When the work is done, we do a walkthrough with you to make sure everything looks right and you're satisfied. Then we clean up the workspace — tools, materials, dust, debris — and leave the area the way we found it. Payment is collected at job completion. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. Invoices are provided for any job requiring documentation.

We clean up before we leave, every time. Your home is not our job site dump.

How Pricing Works

Carrollton Handyman charges per job, not per hour. Before any work begins, you'll have a firm price you've agreed to. That number doesn't change unless you add work or something genuinely unexpected turns up inside a wall or under the floor.

Pricing is based on the type of work, the materials needed, and the scope of the job. Common smaller jobs (outlet swap, drywall patch, door adjustment) have consistent pricing. Larger or more variable jobs are assessed before quoting.

We don't pad estimates with contingency fees or inflate material costs. You pay the fair market price for materials plus a labor rate that reflects skilled handyman work in the Dallas area.

Payment & Documentation

  • Payment is collected after the job is complete and you've confirmed you're satisfied.
  • We accept cash, check, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
  • Itemized invoices are provided upon request — useful for landlords, insurance documentation, or home sale disclosures.
  • For multi-visit jobs, we don't ask for full payment upfront. A reasonable deposit may apply for large material orders.
  • If you're not satisfied with the result, tell us before we leave — we'll make it right on the spot.

Common Questions

How fast can you get here?

For smaller jobs, we can often get on the schedule within the same week. Urgent repairs get priority where the schedule allows. Call and we'll give you an honest answer about availability.

Do I need to buy my own materials?

No. We supply standard materials for most jobs. If a job requires a specific fixture, tile, or product you've already chosen, we work with what you provide. Material costs are included in the quote.

Will the same person show up every time?

Jayden Barrett handles most jobs directly and manages all client communication. For larger punch lists, a small crew may assist, but the same level of supervision applies.

What if the repair is bigger than expected?

We stop and call you before expanding the scope. You'll hear what was found, what the options are, and what the revised cost would be. Nothing gets added to the job without your go-ahead.

Do you work on weekends?

Yes. We're available Saturday and Sunday 7:30am to 9:00pm. Weekend scheduling is first-come, first-served and spots fill up — call ahead to lock in a time.

Is Carrollton Handyman insured?

Yes. Carrollton Handyman carries general liability insurance for all work performed. If you need documentation for a landlord, HOA, or home sale, just ask.
